Dubai: Al Futtaim Motors, the exclusive distributor for Hino commercial vehicles, Toyota industrial equipment and BT warehousing equipment in the UAE, launched a new Hino bus range during the opening of the Commercial Vehicles Middle East Exhibition and Conference yesterday.

Hino vehicles are known for their fuel efficiency and operating costs.

According to Paul Henning, General Manager-Commercial Division of Al Futtaim Motors, the Hino brand is renowned for its durability, as there are fleet owners whose Hino vehicles are still operating 15 years after their initial commissioning.

"Commercial vehicles are about mobility; mobility in terms of people and mobility in terms of goods and products," Henning said in an interview with Gulf News. The two buses launched are aimed at the staff and school transport segments of the market as well as the tourism market.

Passenger transport

"We are focusing on passenger transport. The addition of the bus range to our Hino product line-up provides the brand with a strengthened presence in the passenger transport market."

Al Futtaim Motors has also put on display at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre the new Citiliner 60-seat air conditioned bus and the smaller 34-seat Senator bus.

Also featured at the exhibition are other products from BT, Toyota Forklift and Hino trucks that form part of Al Futtaim Motors Commercial Division.

"We are very delighted that we are part of the first Commercial Vehicles Middle East. It is a good platform to display the competencies that we have that support mobility within the UAE," said Henning.

"It also provides the opportunity to meet representatives from every sector of the regions road and passenger transport business."
