DUBAI: The Emirates Islamic Bank (EIB) today reiterated its commitment to Emiratisation with the launch of two in-house training programmes focusing on UAE national school and university graduates.

“Emirates Islamic is committed to the UAE’s Emiratisation policy, by focusing on the recruitment of promising UAE nationals through launching dedicated development programmes across its various departments,” said Jamal Bin Ghalaita, Chief Executive Officer, Emirates Islamic. “The training programme is part of our talent development strategy, and is aimed at grooming the Emirati leaders of tomorrow.”

Aimed at increasing opportunities for UAE nationals who seek employment within the UAE banking sector, the two programmes will be conducted in coordination with Emirates Institute for Banking & Financial Studies, which has been contributing to the Emiratisation initiative by paving the career path of the UAE nationals in banking and financial sector organisations.

“We are happy to partner with Emirates Islamic in launching such training programmes that will educate today’s youngsters to become qualified bankers of tomorrow.

The programme will also help make Emirates Islamic an Employer of Choice, in the financial services sector in the UAE,” said Jamal Ahmad Al Jassmi, General Manager of Emirates Institute for Banking and Financial Studies.

Emirati college students interested in a banking career can apply to become part of “Uni Grad,” a one-year programme for university graduates. Open to UAE National university graduates up to the age of 27, the programme has 13 candidates in each intake, who will receive both class room and on-the-job training. Candidates who successfully complete the programme will receive job placements at relevant positions within EI, to become part of a fast-track career development initiative.

Simultaneously, EI also launched Al Mustaqbal, a six-month training programme focused on school graduates up to the age of 20. Applicants enrolling into this course will receive a mixture of instruction and on-the-job training, for entry level positions at the bank. Al Mustaqbal aims to train 13 candidates in each intake, with the trainees being placed in the various units of Emirates Islamic, upon successful completion of the programme.

As a leading Islamic bank, Emirates Islamic has been organising a number of programmes which highlights its commitment towards Emiratisation, by attracting UAE talent and showcase the various training and career opportunities available within the bank.
