DUBAI: Ways of strengthening bilateral economic, investment and trade relations between the UAE and Qatar were at the centre of talks held on Tuesday by UAE Minister of Economy Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri and Ambassador of Qatar to the UAE Hadi Bin Nasser Al Hajeri.
The talks covered diversifying investment opportunities in the tourism, logistics and IT sectors, creating a more attractive environment for businesses as well as exchanging information about outstanding investment opportunities.
The growing economic and trade relations between the UAE and Qatar are being driven by their interest in diversifying their economies, decreasing the share of the oil sector in the economy in a gradual manner as well as their growing interest in promoting innovation across various sectors, Minister Al Mansouri noted.
The private sector and the business community can play a stronger role in enhancing the existing UAE-Qatari economic relations, the minister further noted.
The two countries share an interest in promoting their economic relations and co-operation based on the current opportunities which can help advance these relations to higher levels to serve their ambitions and development goals, the ambassador of Qatar stressed.
