Dubai: Under the chairmanship of Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs, the Ministerial Council for Services today met and discussed a Ministry of Economy (MoE) study about the country’s policies pertaining to the industrial sector.

The study highlights the current state of the industrial sector in the UAE, the challenges it faces and the crucial measures proposed to develop the field. It also looks at ways to develop a strategy for the industrial sector as part of the unified national vision which accommodates the specifics of each emirate in order to achieve concrete results with regard to industrial development and the economic diversity of the country.

The council also reviewed three recommendations submitted by the Federal National Council regarding various aspects of the Marriage Fund, Emiratisation in the insurance sector and the setting up of a unified commercial database that is accessible to the MoE and related bodies.

The council also approved a request submitted by the General Pension and Social Security Authority to grant permission to amend certain provisions of Federal Law No. 06, for the year 1999.

The meeting also reviewed a report submitted by the Audit Bureau on the final accounts of the Emirates Integrated Telecommunications Company for the financial year ending December 31, 2013, and also discussed a number of other topics on its agenda, taking the appropriate decisions.
