Consumer prices in the UAE rose 1.73 per cent in November 2017 compared to the same month last year, as the prices of food and beverages and tobacco went up.

According to figures released by the UAE’s National Bureau of Statistics, prices of transportation in the country rose 3.5 per cent year-on-year, while prices of housing, water, electricity and gas inched up 0.4 per cent.

Food and beverage prices rose 1.9 per cent in November, and tobacco prices jumped 70 per cent year-on-year.
