Athens: Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minister, and Greek Vice President Theodoros Pangalos, yesterday opened the UAE-Greek Economic Forum which is aimed at discussing developing investment opportunities in Greece into joint projects that support government efforts to achieve common goals.

In his inaugural speech, Shaikh Abdullah expressed happiness at visiting Greece with which the UAE has distinguished relations, and share identical views and interests on most issues.

The economic forum is intended to expand areas that have economic and investment opportunities in both countries and extend new bridges of communication between their peoples.

"The attention we pay to this country stems from our conviction that despite the difficult economic conditions the global economy is passing through, especially the financial crisis that hit Greece, we are confident that there is hope for recovery," Shaikh Abdullah said.
