Sharjah: In keeping with the directives of His Highness Shaikh Dr Sultan Bin Mohammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, and as part of its preparations to mark the UAE’s 42nd National Day, the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority (Shurooq), will raise the UAE flag on 75-metre high poles in Kalba, Al Dhaid and Dibba Al Hisn in the emirate of Sharjah, to share their pride in their flag and stand in unity behind their leadership with the people of the Emirates.

The UAE flag will be raised in a special ceremony to be held in Kalba, Al Dhaid and Dibba Al Hisn, on December 2, at 4.30pm, in the presence of directors and staff of a number of government departments in Sharjah, as well as senior officials of government bodies in the three cities.

Speaking on the occasion, Shaikha Bodoor Bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of Shurooq, said: “The inauguration of the new flagpoles in the Eastern Region in Sharjah — which will coincide with the 42nd anniversary of the UAE National Day — [comes after] the flagpole developed in Sharjah by Shurooq last year as part of its celebration of the UAE’s 41st National Day.”
