Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) discussed enhancing economic ties with Uganda during a recent visit by President Yoweri Musaveni of Uganda and an official Ugandan government delegation,
The meeting focused on the energy, industrial and agricultural sectors, and on the exchange of visits and investments.
SCCI Chairman Abdullah Sultan Al Owais, said the meeting was the result of year-long efforts by the Chamber to organise visits to a number of African countries and consolidate its presence in promising African markets.
African exports to the UAE grew by 11 per cent over the past five years, the Chamber said in a statement. The UAE also ranked 19th among countries with the most exports in Africa, with exports accounting for 1.1 per cent of total African exports.
