Dubai: His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice- President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has ordered the implementation of phase 2 of JW Marriott Marquis Dubai Hotel on Shaikh Zayed Road.

The second phase of the world’s tallest hotel will cost Dh2.5 billion and will have a capacity of 1,600 rooms, suites and apartments. Shaikh Mohammad’s order came yesterday as he visited the hotel after the completion of its first phase, which comprises 800 rooms, suites and apartments.

He was accompanied by Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates airline and Group.

Shaikh Mohammad toured the hotel’s halls and floors as he inspected the luxury suites in the 70th floor and its various facilities, especially the celebration hall and businessmen hall. The hotel comprises 19 state-of-the-art restaurants, and the largest celebration hall in the Middle East.

Phase 1 of the hotel is ready with its international management and it crews trained in various areas of service and provision of all the means of comfort and luxury services to its occupants and guests from around the world.

Shaikh Mohammad expressed his satisfaction for the completion of the first phase of the giant tourist project and described it as a new landmark to be added to Dubai’s tourist landmarks. He said the hotel would help attract visitors and businessmen from all over the world, enhance the UAE’s position on the global tourism map and consolidate Dubai’s status as a regional and international tourist hub.
