Abu Dhabi: Winners of the eleventh edition of the Shaikh Khalifa Excellence Award were honoured last night in a ceremony at Emirates Palace. The awards were presented by Shaikh Mansour Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Presidential Affairs.

The Shaikh Khalifa Excellence Award (SKEA) is awarded to companies that have demonstrated superior organisational excellence through a process of rigorous assessment.

Shaikh Mansour said Shaikh Khalifa Excellence Award (SKEA) embodies an incentive and driving-force for UAE organisations so that they achieve the utmost degree of excellence in performance and materialise the best results.

Shaikh Mansour added in statements on the sidelines of the ceremony held under the patronage of General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Abu Dhabi Crown Prince and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, the award’s philosophy and objectives reflect keenness on the part of President His highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan to bring about a qualitative breakthrough in the role being played by UAE establishments in a manner consistent with the position enjoyed by the UAE economy regionally and internationally.

“The growing number of national organisations and companies racing for taking the honour of attaining the reward does mirror the credibility established by the UAE quality model in local, regional and international economic markets and circles,” he said.

Among the winners was Abu Dhabi Marine Gas Liquefaction Company (ADGAS), which received the Gold class category for following best practices in the oil and gas sector.

Abu Dhabi Islamic Bank and Sharjah Islamic Bank also won Gold class category for pursuing excellence in all of their financial operations while achieving their strategic objectives and goals.

The highest honour, however, went to the Union National Bank, which received the Diamond Award for pursuing excellence in the financial sector.

Fahim Kazim, CEO of ADGAS, said the Gold Shaikh Khalifa Excellence Award supports our commitment and adherence to business best practices in the oil and gas sector.

Mohammad Issa Odeh, a legal consultant of MOI Law Firm , who also won Shaikh Khalifa Excellence Award in the professional sector, said the award supports his firm’s commitment in putting our valued clients first and providing them with quality care. “The award also recognises our adherence to professional best practices,” he said.
