LuLu to showcase Indian products in Oman stores
LuLu Hypermarkets, whose operations in Oman are its biggest outside the UAE, will organise the 'Incredible India Show at LuLu' from October 6 in association with the Indian Embassy.

Muscat: LuLu Hypermarkets, whose operations in Oman are its biggest outside the UAE, will organise the 'Incredible India Show at LuLu' from October 6 in association with the Indian Embassy.
The Emke Group's supermarket chain hopes to get a million footfalls in the week that the event is held.
"India is a vast country. What we will showcase during the week will be just a trailer of what it could be," said A.V. Ananth, regional director for LuLu Hypermarkets in Oman.
Speaking at a press conference held on Saturday to announce the event, Indian ambassador Anil Wadhwa said: "The Incredible India Show is a one-of-its-kind event which is designed to recreate the splendour of India through exotic folk dances, music and a variety of cuisines."
Ananth said a separate budget has been set aside for this event which will be an annual affair. He said he was not in a position to reveal the amount set aside for the event.
"This is a start and we would like to make it even bigger in future," he said.

Ananth also revealed that the group was planning to open more hypermarkets in Oman. "Work is going on in Salalah, Nizwa, Buraimi and Khasab and will soon make announcements regarding opening these outlets," he added.
Wadhwa said Indian Textile Minister Shankarsinh Waghela's recent visit to Oman had raised the possibility of a market for the Indian handicrafts and handlooms opening in the sultanate.
Handicrafts
"They have seen the potential Indian handicrafts and handlooms have in Oman," said Ananth.
With the participation of India's Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts and the Export Promotion Council for Handlooms, the 'Incredible India Show at LuLu' promises to showcase a wide range of handicrafts, handlooms and other products from India.
The 'Incredible India Show at LuLu' will be simultaneously held across LuLu Darsait, Sohar, Baushar, Seeb, and Barka.
It will include individual state themes for each centre with cultural performances, cooking demonstrations, inter-school drawing and painting competition, inter-school folk dance group competition.
There will be a fancy dress competition for kids, cooking competition for men, brides of India contest for women, face painting for kids, henna for ladies, cartoon characters and balloon distribution for kids.
A lucky draw will be held on the last day of the show.
The grand finale to the Incredible India promotion will be held on October 13 at the Indian Embassy Auditorium in the Al Khuwair Diplomatic Area.
