Abu Dhabi: Expatriates’ remittances went up during the first quarter of 2017 by 1.1 per cent compared to the same period of 2016, reaching Dh37.1 billion, the UAE Central Bank announced on Sunday. According to the quarterly review report, Indian workers have topped all nationalities in terms of remittances with Dh12.95 billion or 34 per cent, followed by the Pakistanis with 9.4 per cent and Filipinos with 7.9 per cent.

In addition, American passport holders accounted for 5.4 per cent of the total remittances while Egyptians came next with 4.95 per cent followed by British nationals with 4.4 per cent.
