Cairo: Egypt’s Suez Canal revenue rose by 2.5 per cent in July from a month earlier, data from the Cabinet Information Center showed. Suez Canal revenue reached $429 million (Dh1.57 billion) in July compared with $418.7 million in June. The canal is one of Egypt’s main sources of foreign currency. Egypt has been struggling to revive its economy since a 2011 uprising scared away tourists and foreign investors, other main sources of hard currency.
