Dubai: Dubai residents are all too familiar with stopping at a drive-through for fast food. Now, they can stop to register a business.

Dubai Economy’s forthcoming ‘DED Cafe’, developed in partnership with the High Level for Government Transacton Centre, will offer businesses a “convenient and flexible option to complete registration and licensing transactions, including a drive-through service,” the government agency said in a press statement.

The move is in line with directives from His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to transform service outlets in all government departments into customer happiness centres.

Najla Ebrahim Al Shamsi, general manager of the High Level for Government Transaction Centre, said, “We aim provide high quality services and procedures with the support of competent human [cadres] to exceed customer expectations and delight them. We thank Dubai Economy and its leadership for their confidence in us and their co-operation, which in fact inspires us to further demonstrate our capabilities and self-esteem.”

Dubai Economy said the DED Cafe builds on existing public-private partnerships, and is aligned to the government’s directive to promote Dubai as an ideal destination for investment and business development, and to ease procedures for business people and investors.
