Dubai: Ajman’s Department of Planning and Development (DED-Ajman) issued 1,052 new business licences in the second quarter of 2017. During the same period, it revoked or cancelled 165 licences.

The number of licence renewals rose from 5,597 in the first quarter to 6,286 in the second, an increase of 12.3 per cent.

Saud Sultan Al Shammari, director of the Economic Registration and Licensing Department of DED Ajman, said the increase was due to the emirate’s economic growth and the confidence of investors in its economic environment.

“The Ajman Government aims to reach a sustainable economic development, become one of the most attractive destinations for investments in the UAE and the rest of the region, and build a strong economic incubator for business growth,” he said.
