Ajman: His Highness Shaikh Humaid Bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Ajman, yesterday (Wednesday) issued Emiri Decree No. 13 of 2015, approving the general budget of the Ajman government for the fiscal year 2016, with a total expenditure of about Dh1.17 billion, and a growth rate of 10 per cent compared to last year’s budget.

Shaikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Crown Prince of Ajman, said that the budget for the fiscal year 2016 is a translation of the directives of the Ruler of Ajman, and focuses on the application of prudent fiscal policies based on promoting economic growth, that will develop the efficiency of the Ajman government authorities to provide better services. It will also ensure continuity in terms of strengthening the infrastructure.

He added that this would contribute to enabling Ajman to maintain its advanced ranking in the economic and social indicators to achieve the objectives of Ajman Vision 2021.

Speaking on the occasion, Shaikh Ahmad Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi, Ruler’s Representative for Administrative and Financial Affairs, said, “It is a balanced budget without a deficit and with a growth rate of 10 per cent in comparison to last year.”

He added that in the budget 32 per cent is allocated for the economic sector, 30 per cent for the housing and community facilities, 25 per cent for the public services sector, and 13 per cent for system and public safety affairs sector.

He also confirmed that the Ajman general budget would keep pace with the overall development and rapid growth of the emirate in response to the aspirations of the government to achieve Ajman Vision 2021.
