His Highness Shaikh Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, left here today for the Saudi Arabia capital, Riyadh, leading the UAE delegation to the 3rd Arab Social and Economic Development Summit, which starts on Tuesday.

Riyadh is hosting the summit, aimed at boosting economic integration and development in the Arab countries.

Shaikh Mohammed is accompanied by a high-level delegation comprising Shaikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Foreign Minister, Shaikha Lubna Bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of Foreign Trade, Sultan Bin Saeed Al Mansouri, Minister of Economy, and a number of state ministers and senior officials.

The Vice President and his accompanying delegation were seen off by Shaikh Hamdan Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai and UAE Minister of Finance, Shaikh Maktoum Bin Mohammad Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Deputy Ruler of Dubai, and other top officials.

The participating countries in the two-day summit in addition to Saudi Arabia are UAE, Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon, Kuwait, Qatar, Bahrain, Sultanate of Oman, Morocco, Tunisia, Algeria, Sudan, Palestine, Yemen, Libya, Mauritania, Somalia, Djibouti, and Comoros Islands.

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Saudi Arabia, Their Majesties, Highnesses and leaders of the Arab countries participating in the summit held at King Abdulaziz International Conference Centre in Riyadh will give top priority in achieving the welfare of the Arab citizens within the framework of the joint cooperation among the Arab countries in the development, economic and social fields.

The Arab leaders will also discuss a host of pressing issues concerning with the development and investment in the Arab region in particular, and ways to achieve the Millennium Development Goals in addition to the adoption of new model of development in the Arab countries. They also seek to create an economic bloc which supports their economies and boosts its role as a consistent regional and international group.
