Dubai: As many as 376 Infiniti G35 sedans and coupes will be recalled by Nissan in Dubai and the northern emirates over potential airbag safety problems as part of a global recall, the local dealer said.

"There are a few units… that we will recall to check. They are possibly affected, but not for sure," Michel Ayat, chief executive of Arabian Automobiles, dealer of Nissan, Infiniti and Renault, told Gulf News.

Ayat said the dealer would inspect the airbags in potentially affected cars and repair the fault if necessary.

The recall comes after the dealer was informed that Infiniti, Nissan's luxury brand, was conducting recalls in the United States, where almost 134,000 cars could be affected. The Infiniti G35 coupe for model years 2005 to 2007 and sedan models 2006 to 2007 are affected, Ayat said.

Speaking on the widespread recalls in the auto industry, Ayat said Nissan is the least affected and, in this case, the default is limited to 376 cars.

"Nissan is taking all necessary action to fix the issue," he said.
