Dubai: Renault Middle East reported a 33 per cent year-on-year increase in first-half sales in the Gulf Cooperation Countries.

Renault sold 7,991 new vehicles, fuelled by the success of the affordable Duster SUV model.

Sales in Abu Dhabi rose 41 per cent and in Dubai, they increased by 30 per cent.

In Saudi Arabia, the French carmaker sold 4,824 vehicles, registering an increase of 44 per cent.

In other GCC countries, Renault recorded striking sales, with Qatar up 71 per cent and 22 per cent in Kuwait.
