Dubai: Infiniti’s Q game plan is yielding results. The Nissan owned luxury marque recorded a 19 per cent volume gain — to total 5,892 units — in the 12 months to end March from the Middle East markets.

“The region provides our third highest market share worldwide and we are committed to growing further,” said Juergen Schmitz, regional general manager.

“We have a robust midterm plan in place, which took a significant step forward last week as we began roll-out of our strategy for strengthening of our position in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.”

Sales of the Q50 begin region-wide this month. Infiniti recently made the switch to have all its models bearing the Q label. In the last financial year, the QX60 was the best-seller in the line-up with 1,489 units, followed by the QX70 with 1,464 units. Sales in Abu Dhabi and Qatar were up 40 per cent, while Dubai delivered a solid 24.5 per cent.

In fact, the line-up of SUVs contributed to more than 75 per cent of total volume with QX60 and QX70 remaining the core models. But the QX80 achieved an all-time monthly record high in March.
