Dubai: Al Tayer Motors, one of the UAE's premier automobile dealerships, has opened a new eco-friendly showroom and after-sales centre in Ras Al Khaimah for the Ford, Lincoln, Jaguar, Land Rover and Range Rover brands.
The new facility, located in the Riffa area on Ittihad Road, includes a showroom space of more than 23,000 square feet, a spare parts department, a workshop, an interactive area for customers and a dedicated area for approved pre-owned vehicles.
The facility has utilised many environmentally-friendly technologies.
"We are constantly working to innovate and embrace best practices across disciplines while also striving to set new standards in the local automotive industry. In the new facility, we have worked on the physical structure of the showrooms and service centres to make them more environmentally-friendly and as energy-efficient as possible," said Ashok Khanna, chief executive officer at Al Tayer Motors.
The new showroom uses natural sunlight for internal lighting through skylights reducing the heat load on the air-conditioning system. External glass used on the showroom is of high grade which helps reduce power consumption compared with ordinary glass.
Environmentally friendly technologies have been used in the facility to help conserve energy and reuse water. Sixty per cent of the water used in the car wash is recycled, purified and reused using a state-of-the-art water recycling plant.
Building Management Systems help conserve energy by controlling lighting and air-conditioning, using smart sensors to optimise usage. It also helps alert maintenance personnel to service requirements for high value equipment.
The showroom has already received appreciation from Ford Motor Company, which presented it the ‘Golden Shovel' award.
