Abu Dhabi: The five-day Abu Dhabi International Motor Show 2010 (ADIMS) will start today in the capital at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre.

"There are 63 exhibitors [who] include car manufacturers and car dealers. During the show, some car manufacturers will be doing [the] UAE and regional launches of their new models," a person close to the organisers of the motor show told Gulf News by telephone.

"There will be about 200 cars on display from different manufacturers," the source added.

Spoilt for choice

"The 2010 edition of the ADIMS will witness various UAE and regional launches, among them are the Chevrolet Captiva 2011, GMC's Acadia Denali 2011, a range of 2011 Ford Mustangs, the ultra-exclusive Lexus LFA supercar, Kia's next generation Sportage, the Toyota FT-86G, the Range Rover Evoque, the Peugeot RCZ and the Mazda KAZAMAI concept car," said Reed Exhibitions Middle East, the motor show organiser, in a statement.

Tickets are now on sale for Dh20 and by purchasing a ticket visitors will be entered into a prize draw. Children under 5 will be allowed into the show for free.

The Abu Dhabi International Motor Show is the oldest automobile exhibition in the Middle East.

Launched over 20 years ago, it is held once every two years. The 2008 edition Abu Dhabi International Motor Show welcomed 50,000 visitors and 80 exhibitors, showcasing 50 brands of luxury cars, 400 of the latest models from over 30 global vehicle manufacturers, and witnessing 19 Middle East launches.
