Boy, 10, killed in Sharjah run-over accident
Victim died shortly after being taken to hospital
Sharjah: A 10-year-old Pakistani boy died after he was run over by a speeding car while crossing a road in Al Hazana area in Sharjah on Friday evening, a police official said on Saturday.
The boy, identified as R.M.T.H., was admitted to Al Kuwaiti Hospital where he died shortly after admission. A police patrol and paramedics arrived at the scene after they were alerted at around 5.30pm.
The police said the child was with his family when the accident occurred. The driver who caused the accident was speeding and not paying attention. “The driver is in custody and is being questioned at Wasit police station,” an officer said.
The police appealed to all parents to observe road safety rules and asked drivers to give priority to people crossing roads.
