Kalba: The body of a young Emirati who went missing at sea was found by police divers off Kalba on Sunday morning.
The rescue team found the body of the 14-year-old after a search spanning 14 hours, said Lieutenant Colonel Rashid Saif Al Za’abi, Director of Kalba police station.
Rescue boats had been scouring the Kalba beach in search of the lost teenager, identified as H.S.J.B.S., following an accident on Saturday evening.
Police received a call at 6.40 pm on Saturday about three Emirati teenagers who had got into trouble after venturing into the sea. Two of the youngsters were rescued by fishermen who were present in the vicinity while the third was swept away.
Police ordered other swimmers out of the water as they began a search for the missing teenager. The air wing also participated in the search mission as relatives of the lost teen gathered on the shore.
The two survivors, aged 12 and 15, are reportedly in good condition after being given first aid and taken to a hospital.
