Patna Controversies refuse to die down in Bihar. A day after former health minister Tej Pratap Yadav threatened to beat up Bihar deputy chief minister Sushil Kumar Modi, a senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader on Friday announced a reward of Rs10 million to anyone who slapped Yadav.

“I will give a reward of Rs10 million to anyone who slaps Tej Pratap Yadav in public,” senior BJP leader and former parliamentarian Anil Sahani declared on Friday. Sahani currently happens to be the party’s Patna town unit media in-charge.

Angry BJP workers also demonstrated on the streets and burnt in effigy the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) president Lalu Prasad, the father of Tej Pratap Yadav.

The political atmosphere in the state has suddenly got surcharged after Tej Pratap allegedly threatened to thrash Bihar deputy chief minister and senior BJP leader at a public rally, apparently irked at a series of exposes made by Modi. He issued the threats shortly after Modi called him up to invite him for his son’s wedding next month.

“Modi has invited me for the wedding as he wants to insult us further. I am not scared and our fight will go on. I will enter his house and give him a sound thrashing right there in the presence of guests,” Tej Pratap reportedly said while addressing a public meeting in Aurangabad town.

He also threatened to disrupt his son’s wedding and set the wedding canopy on fire, while also warning to expose Modi’s alleged “ill-gotten wealth”.

The comments drew strong protests from ruling Janata Dal United (JD-U) leaders who dared him to keep his word.

RJD president Prasad, however, brushed aside, all such controversies saying his family doesn’t believes in non-violence and assured Modi of his support.

“Modi need not worry and plan his son’s wedding without any fear. My son won’t go there,” he assured.

The wedding of Modi’s son is scheduled to be solemnised on December 3. Modi has claimed in writing that he was not taking dowry for his son’s wedding, and requested guests to not brings gifts for the couple.

Also, he has announced not to throw a feast for the guests and instead has promised to serve only two ‘ladoos’ (a kind of sweet) to the guests.

Further, no invitation card has been printed for this wedding, instead only e-cards have been sent to all the guests.
