Dubai: Dubai-based Abraaj Group on Tuesday said it sold its stake in Thai hospital Vejthani to the South East Asian chain KPJ Healthcare, the private equity firm’s second exit in the past six months in the healthcare sector.
Abraaj purchased the Vejthani stake in 2009 as it looked to benefit from an increasing demand in medical services in the country, according to an emailed statement. No financial details, or the size of the stake, were disclosed.
Abraaj Group still owns nine hospitals around the world. Last year, it sold its stake in Malaysian hospital operator IHH Healthcare Berhad.
