Dubai: You may have heard of shampoos made of animal placenta, caviar, emu fat or perhaps even oil from sperm whales but surely not one made from camel milk.
A UAE company may have just done their bit to add a local element to that list of weird shampoos by launching on Sunday what they are claiming to be the world’s first hair care product made of camel milk.
Unveiled by Camelicious at the Beauty World Middle East 2016 Exhibition this week in Dubai, the shampoo – called Camellure – is made of multivitamins and oils of argan and jojoba too.
However, it is the company’s ‘secret’ camel milk formula that makes it a shampoo like no other, says deputy general manager Mutasher Al Badry. “Camel milk contains Lanolin and other natural moisturising assets besides vitamins. Lanolin derivatives are used in products for the protection and treatment of human skin and now hair,” said Al Badry, who is also the company’s business development manager.
Available in four varieties - for dry, normal and coloured hair besides an anti-dandruff shampoo, a 200ml Camellure will soon be sold for Dh40 to Dh45 in supermarkets, he said.
