What are your thoughts on this?

Researchers questioned 1,100 employees at different companies to find out how closely a boss’s management style and employee morale correlated.

Employees who felt their autonomy and their contributions were respected reported higher morale and better on-the-job performance.

One of my favourite terms from my days working in an office: Seagull Manager - “A manager who flaps in, ...on everything, and then flaps out again.”

@JesseLynStoner:

Are you a “control-freak” an “absentee manager” or a “seagull manager?”...

@MrOjelabi:

What are the traits of a good boss?

I would list empathy, providing staff with opportunities for growth and advancement, fair dealing, honest feedback and above all, they believe in you.

The bad bosses have been malicious, rude, uncaring and basically not worthy of emulation.

@kn0p0w:

A good manager takes initiative and helps the staff out. A bad manager bosses people around and doesn’t help out at all. That’s my opinion.
