This Harvard graduate comes from a lineage of wordsmiths. His father, Najam Sethi, is among the most respected journalists in Pakistan. Ali Sethi's debut novel, The Wishmaker, earned praise from the New York Times, not to mention lauded writers such as Khaled Hosseini and Mohsin Hamid. There has been a trend of late of high calibre novelists emanating from Pakistan. Sethi is the youngest in a handful of critically acclaimed writers to have achieved international notoriety. He is said to have a second novel in the works.
