Abu Dhabi: The UAE's enterprise performance and quality management (EFQM) record appears to be high compared to other countries, an expert said.

Gary Cokins, principal consultant for global business advisory services at SAS, a leading provider of business analytics and enterprise performance management software and services worldwide, told Gulf News that this country is slated to be the first leading country in the Middle East in the field of EFQM and high quality customer services.

The UAE has benefitted to a great extent from its resources and from the utilisation of EFQM solutions across the public sector to achieve the visions and missions that were laid out for its strategic plans for the coming years.

It is exerting efforts to be the first country in the field of EFQM, Cokins said.

The UAE has succeeded in strategy and policy exe-cution through better alignment and accountability of managers and employees, he said.

"The government in the UAE has gained insights and made better informed decisions which helped it shape its 2032 vision for Abu Dhabi," Cokins said.

He remarked that the public sector in the Middle East has already started to adopt enterprise performance management as a key tool to help drive productivity and efficiency.

"These government offices have started to create a stronger focus on the outputs and outcomes via the implementation of enterprise performance management methodologies and solutions," Cokins said.

He advised the public sector in the UAE and in the Middle East to look for means to improve performance using the enterprise performance management's suite of methods, integrate the relevant data gathered and to expand the use of analytics like segmentation and correlation analysis.
