Dubai: Budget-savvy shoppers who are in the market for a new smartphone, laptop or gaming console can find deals offering up to Dh6,000 in savings at the spring edition of Gitex Shopper that kicks off today.
There’s a 65-inch television that is up for grabs for Dh8,999, down from Dh14,999 prior to the sale, or a smartphone that is going for more than Dh2,000, complete with a mobile virtual-reality device, a wireless charger, headset, SD card, backpack, premium watch and selfie stick, giving buyers a chance to save Dh1,900.
Those looking for a laptop upgrade might want to bring home a MacBook Pro, priced at Dh8,799, down from the original retail rate of Dh9,899.

Nadeem Khanzadah, head for OmniChannel retail at Jumbo Group, said much of their deals are for smartphones, laptops, ultra-high-definition (UHD)/4K television, and fitness and wearable devices.
Khanzadah said they are expecting this year’s sales to break the previous record, with the turnover forecast to rise by 10 per cent from a year earlier.
For Sony Middle East and Africa, this year’s Gitex will bring in even higher sales. “We are targeting 20 per cent growth in consumer audio-video business, with major contributions estimated from Bravia 4K TV,” Rohit Khadtare, senior manager, UAE sales, for Sony Middle East and Africa, told Gulf News.
Khadtare said among the products and offers they intend to launch at Gitex are television and camera items.
“We expect a continuation of consumer shift towards big screen in television which is becoming more affordable with attractive offers during Gitex Shopper Spring. Also, there will be a wide range of consumer offers with gift vouchers and bundle items across Sony camera models,” said Khadtare.
