Tesla CEO has launched a flamethrower

Elon Musk, the closest person we have to a real-life Batman is now selling flamethrowers

Last updated:

As of 10:00 this morning, 2,000 people have already ordered their flamethrowers.

For those of you wondering what’s happening, here’s a backgrounder. Elon Musk, the guy behind PayPal, Tesla, Space X, Hyperloop etc., launched an initiative called The Boring Company.

The Boring Company is a project that aims to build a network of tunnels under major cities with car sleds that transport vehicles at high speeds. The 1-minute video below will explain exactly how it works.

In order to fund this initiative, Musk started selling Boring Company caps at $20 (74) each. Late last year, he tweeted that they would sell flamethrowers, if and when the 50,000 caps sell out.

This could have been a joke, however the hats did sell out and we woke up to this today:

The Boring Company Flamethrower is real

The Flamethrower, is priced at $500 (Dh1,836, does not include shipping, custom fees and VAT) and is currently available for pre-order.

The flamethrower is supposedly, the “World's safest flamethrower!” and is “Guaranteed to liven up any party!” You could pick up a “Boring Company Fire Extinguisher” for $30 too. I’m guessing you would need it, if you are actually considering buying a flamethrower.

Before shipping, “aspiring flamethrower aficionados will be sent a terms and conditions rhyme for review and acceptance.” Check it out here.
