Meet Sony's latest flagship, the XZ.

Sony’s latest flagship, the XZ, was launched in the region last night after its global unveiling at the consumer electronics trade show - IFA in Berlin earlier this month.
Here’s your tech guide to the latest smartphone in town.
The Xperia XZ features a 5.2-inch (Full-HD, 1080p) curved glass display and a metal back. It runs on a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820, 64-bit processor and ships with Google’s Android M operating system.
The device features 3GB of RAM with 32/64GB of memory and an expandable microSD card slot of up to 256GB.
The Xperia XZ is also water resistant and features a fingerprint sensor on the power button. The device is available in three colours; Mineral Black, Platinum and a brand new Forest Blue.

On the rear is the 23MP main camera with a standby-to-capture speed of 0.6 seconds thanks to a dedicated shutter release button. The front facing camera is a 13MP featuring a 22mm/90-degree wide angle lens.
Sony have kitted the XZ out with its triple image sensing technology and 5-axis image stabilisation that allows users to capture blur-free photos even when their subjects are in motion.
With this device, Sony’s Predictive Hybrid auto focus has been paired with a Laser AF sensor, a technology that senses distance. The result is an enhanced camera experience that is soon becoming synonymous with Sony mobiles.
The XZ runs on a 2,900mAh battery, helped by Qnovo adaptive charging a technology that monitors and adjusts the charging current to avoid damage for battery longevity. The device also features a USB Type-C port.
The Xperia XZ costs Dh2,299 and is available on the 29th of September at all major electronic retailers.
Its pre-launch offer includes freebies worth Dh799 - you can choose between a pair of wireless noise cancelling headphones or a portable high-resolution audio network speaker.
