Dubai: Besides the trend of e-Transformation across the UAE, several government entities have tried to engineer new smart services targeting the business community.

The entities have stepped up at Gitex Technology Week 2013 to showcase different approaches and ways to boost the business market and meet its requirements.

Dubai Chamber of Commerce and Industry launched a new online service, Dubai Chamber International Business Network, to benefit the foreign businesses who are interested in Dubai market.

The new Dubai Chamber International Business Network service allows foreign businessmen to have online membership with the Dubai chamber and get a wide range of benefits for a minimal charge of $150, Hamad Bu Amim, Director General of Dubai Chamber, told Gulf News.

He said: “The aim of this service is attract investors and businesses to the Dubai market and assist the business community.”

Through the online service, the member will get most of the information related to the Dubai market including the requirements involved in establishing businesses, market studies, market rules and regulations, business activities, top companies and exhibitions taking place in Dubai.

“We will be also offering other services that ease bringing these businesses to Dubai or arrange for meeting or exhibition,’ Bu Amim said.

This service is available on the Dubai Chamber smart app as well on the website.

The Department of Economic Development in Dubai (DED) also launched a new smart app that allow members of Dubai small- and medium enterprises (SMEs) to display all their products. eMall is designed to to support the firms and boost their business and it is expected to increase sales by up to 25 per cent in the first six months of the launch, DED said.

Smart Report is another application launched by the Ministry of Economy to benefit the merchants directly, said Essam Al Filasi, IT director at the ministry. The application will enable traders to chose any product and check a range of prices, the origin of the production, availability, retailers and all information related to the item, including an info graphic.

The eGovernment of Abu Dhabi also was showcasing their portal Jobs Abu Dhabi that facilitates Emiratisation efforts and provides a broader window of opportunities for UAE’s job seekers (www.jobsabudhabi.ae).

Abu Dhabi’s leading job search engine and portal can be used by jobseekers around the world to connect with employers from the Emirate’s government and private sectors.
