Pluto Games, the distribution house, has entered partnerships with leading retailers whereby gamers in the Gulf can top up their ‘Stream Wallet’ using its dedicated prepaid cards. The Stream games library features more 2,000 titles that can be accessed online.

Steam Wallet Cards will now be available at Virgin Megastores, the eXtra Stores in Saudi Arabia and Alghanim outlets in Kuwait. Customers can thus have an alternative method to credit card payments.

It was last month that Pluto Games signed an agreement with Steam to become the distributor of Steam Wallet Cards across 300 retail outlets in the region. The Steam Wallet Keys are codes that allow players on Steam to deposit values into their “wallet” and make purchases on the gaming platform. This will remove restrictions that the customers might have faced in the past when it came to support and security.

“This will provide easier and safer options for gamers to do transactions on this popular gaming delivery service,” said Arvind Agrawal, CEO, Pragma Technologies, of which Pluto Games is a part. “These fully Arabic localised wallet cards will further increase the fan base of Steam users in the region.”

According to estimates, the Middle East is responsible for more than $100 million in online gaming revenues, with the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait having significant share in the industry.
