Dubai Lynx Awards honour 179 winners in regional advertising

Y&R Dubai agency and networker of the year, FP7/BAH also among winners

Dubai: The Dubai Lynx Awards announced Y&R Dubai as the Agency and Networker of the Year and FP7/BAH, Manama, as the Media Agency of the Year at an awards gala held last night at Madinat Jumeirah.

A total of 179 winners, seven Grand Prix, 22 golds, 58 silvers and 92 bronzes were bestowed during the gala attended by more than 1,400 people.

"This has been an outstanding festival, attended by over 1,100 delegates with some fantastic work being awarded, a diversity of content and top speakers and unmissable networking events," said Steve Lane, Festival Director.

"It shows that the industry in the region is maturing and the creative bar has been set even higher for next year's awards."

Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, President of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chairman and CEO of Emirates airline and Group, accepted the award for Advertising Person of the Year, while Coca-Cola Egypt was awarded Advertiser of the Year.

In second place for Agency of the Year was FP7/BAH, Manama, followed by TBWA\RAAD Dubai. The runner-up for Media Agency of the Year was awarded to OMD Dubai and TBWA\RAAD Dubai, while second and third places for Networker of the Year went to Leo Burnett and McCann WorldGroup respectively.

Leo Burnett Beirut walked away with two Grand Prix prizes in the Integrated and Media categories. Y&R also took two Grand Prix prizes in the Design and Print categories.

Eleven Cairo won Grand Prix in the Film category while FP7/BAH Manama won in the Promo and Activation Category.
