Injazat signs deals worth more than Dh1.3b
Abu Dhabi: Injazat Data Systems, a top information technology outsourcing and business process outsourcing provider in the UAE, yesterday said it has signed contracts worth more than Dh1.3 billion in the first two years of its operations.
"We are also working in Qatar, but we are concentrating on the UAE. We have 75 per cent of our contracts from the government, while 25 per cent of the contracts are from private and semi-private entities," Injazat's chief executive Ebrahim M. Lari told Gulf News on the sidelines of a news conference here.
"There are several contracts - government, semi-government and private contracts on their way, about which you will hear from us, shortly," Lari added.
He said Injazat's revenue grew 68 per cent year-on-year in 2006, propelling the company into the elite group of the UAE's three biggest information technology services companies.
Different programmes
yesterday, the Abu Dhabi-based Injazat, which employs close to 450 people, announced the establishment of the "Injazat Institute", a business-oriented career development initiative, that aims to enhance the competency of the UAE's information technology professionals and improve their ability to support their organisations.
"The Injazat Institute is focused on developing internationally competent IT professionals by combining comprehensive IT training with insightful business inputs and extensive hands-on operational exposure," said Lari, adding that the institute will provide business and technical training according to constantly updated programs, which are developed to meet the demands of the fast-evolving business environment.
Yousuf Asfour, director of the Injazat Institute said the first group of students, who will start training next week, will have two weeks of induction followed by four weeks of training for the jobs they are targeted for.
"Sixty students will graduate by the end of this year in different programmes. Classes will be held at local venues within Abu Dhabi, although we are working toward developing a permanent venue to conduct our classes," he added.
As one of the country's leading proponents of Emiratisation, Injazat Data Systems has initially prioritised UAE nationals to be the candidates of the Injazat Institute, although the programme will be open to expatriate candidates from within Injazat and in the future, to candidates from other organisations.
