HTC set to revamp selfies as we know it

New York: The Taiwanese smartphone maker's new top-of-the-range HTC Desire model, the HTC Desire EYE, was announced on Wednesday at HTC's "Double Exposure" event here.

The new device features 13 megapixel front and rear cameras and an intelligent dual-LED flash on both cameras. 

Weighing 154gms, the device runs on a 2.3 GHz, quad-core processor, powered by a 2400mAh battery with a talk time of up to 20 hours.

Both cameras are an impressive 13-megapixels, and feature a wide angle lens, dual LED flash, 1080p video recording and HDR capability.

The device is shipped with the entire HTC Eye Experience software. This includes Face Tracking, Screen Share, Split Capture, Face Fusion, Live Makeup, Auto Selfie, Voice Selfie, Photo Booth and its Crop-Me-In features.

On the audio front, the device features HTC BoomSound, dual front-facing stereo speakers with built-in amplifiers and three microphones for enhanced background noise cancellation.

Lastly, the 5.2-inch device is waterproof too.

The HTC Desire EYE will available in the UAE for about Dh2,099 in two-colour variations (white/red and light and dark blue) from mid-November onward together with the new HTC RE mini camera.
