Dubai iPad and other tablet computer users could soon be able to access TV shows and movies in the UAE.
Etisalat told Gulf News Thursday that its ‘eLife' package will be available on tablets and computers by October, as soon as the company has ironed out content restrictions with some of the networks. eLife would run on Apple and Android platforms, either on a data package outside the home or WiFi.
"We are looking at opening up our eLife TV to other multiple screens as we have a lot of content on hand," said Rashed Majid Al Abbar, vice-president of home products marketing at etisalat.
Etisalat offers 370 channels in 24 languages on eLife TV, which is currently only available on fixed home broadband. "Our aim is to have 700 channels by the second quarter of next year. Five more languages are expected to be added soon," Al Abbar said.
