PlayBook's mini keyboard

PlayBook's mini keyboard

Last updated:

Research in Motion introduced the BlackBerry Mini Keyboard, a new accessory for the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet last week. The keyboard — with full qwerty — is ultraportable and connects securely via Bluetooth, and comes with a stylish convertible case that doubles as a stand for the tablet. It also offers an integrated touchpad that allows users to navigate and control the PlayBook as easily as using the touchscreen on the tablet itself. When the keyboard is active, the tablet's virtual keyboard remains hidden, freeing up the display. The keyboard uses the micro-USB charger that comes with the tablet, and the battery lasts up to 30 days on full charge. What's more, you can remotely access your Windows desktop and apps via Citrix Receiver. You can now pre-order at www.shopblackberry.com for $119.99 (Dh441).

Dubai on calendar

Dubaicalendar.com, that all-you-need-to-know website about the goings-on in the city, has just gone apptastic. The mobile app, available for free download on Apple, BlackBerry and Android devices, is now live. Promoted by the Dubai Events and Promotions Establishment (DEPE), the website and the app are both available in English and Arabic, providing activity listings for events up to 12 months in advance.

More coverage, one solution

This one's for those with bigger homes and one wireless router. Cisco's Linksys HomePlug AV Powerline solution can help you extend your wireless coverage. All you have to do is plug in one of the two adapters into your existing routers and the other in another room where the signal is the weakest. Cisco says the Powerline transforms your electrical socket into an internet connection. Now available in the UAE for Dh349.
