Jackues Potgieter (hcp 3) has won the weekly Yas Acres 'Chook Run' Stableford at Yas Acres Golf and Country Club, Yas Island, Abu Dhabi with a winning score of 21 points in the nine hole tournament.
With full handicap allowance in place for all competitors, Jackues opened up nicely with a net birdie on the opening par five 1st hole. Bogeys on holes 3 and 6 were balanced out with birdies on the par four 4th hole and a net birdie on the 7th hole.
Jackues was saving his best until the last. The 9th hole, being stroke index one, and where Jackues would receive have his last 'shot allowance'. Coming up with a net eagle to seal the deal and was eventually enough to sign off his nine holes and a total of 36 shots gross.
Second place went to Jeffery Wright (hcp 6) with 17 points (net 37). Nicholas Martin (hcp 12) in third spot just one point back with 16 points (net 38). A special mention to Nicholas who also had a net eagle on the last hole! Finally in fourth position, was Ameera Aljaberi (hcp 16) with 13 points (net 41).
The next Yas Acres ‘Chook Run’ Stableford takes place on Friday 18th August.
