Jumeirah Golf Estates hosted a Ladies’ event supporting Women in Golf. This was a special event where the Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club and Jumeirah Golf Estates Lady members competed on the Earth course. A total of 32 ladies played in eight flights in the morning.

The format was a Pairs Texas Scramble with all ladies teeing it from the Orange tee markers. A combined course handicap of 35% of the lowest and 15% highest.

The Women’s Golf Day winning team were Nini Philips and Beatrice Galeppini (Combined hcp. 6), representing Dubai Creek. They played some exceptional golf scoring a very impressive net 66 (6 under par). This was a superb three shots clear of the rest of the field.

The two had a highly consistent card comprising six net birdies, one regular birdie and just the one bogey to show for their round. A particular highlight came just before the turn, where they picked up a trio of birdies.

Both winners received a gift from the JGE Professional Shop and the opportunity to have a 45-minute lesson with a golf-teaching professional, Ginger DelaCretaz, at the Tommy Fleetwood Academy.

DelaCretaz kindly donated this prize for the day’s event in support of Women in Golf and her continued involvement in the ladies' golf section at Jumeirah Golf Estates.

The runners-up were the pairing of Lady Captain Evelyn Downham and partner Veronica Juul-Nyholm (combined hcp. 10) with a great score of net 69 (3 under par).

The twosome worked exceptionally well together; a particular highlight was their closing holes where they were three under through two. Downham hit an amazing tee shot on hole 17 and converted for a net eagle.

The third-place spot went to Juliette Castell and Phillipa Stumbles (combined hcp. 14) with a score of net 70 (2 under par). The duo had a fantastic back nine, with three net birdies in quick succession. They won a JGE-branded towel bag and two sleeves of Titleist golf balls each.

Whilst concluding the prize-giving presentation, Rory Stewart, Golf Services Executive at Jumeirah Golf Estates, commented, ‘On behalf of Jumeirah Golf Estates, I would like to thank everyone for their support of the ladies’ section. Thank you to the ladies from Dubai Creek for participating in today’s event and for winners Beatrice and Nini.’
