I am looking forward to hosting the 2021 EAGL Junior Championship at The Track, Meydan. I have just returned from two weeks on the Asian Tour in Phuket where I made the cut in both events and it was nice to get back in the rhythm of playing on Tour.
I am now back home in Dubai with the family and planning for the EAGL Junior Championship that I am hosting, which will take place on December 18 at The Track with an 8.30am shotgun start.
Golf clubs throughout the UAE have been invited to provide a team of four juniors under the age of 18 on the day of the event, both boys and girls, to play in a nine-hole tournament over the 3,492-yard, par 36, Peter Harradine-designed layout.

The event is a gross tournament with net prizes and also includes team prizes. I have always wanted to encourage junior golf in the UAE, I feel we have so many big international professional events as well as corporate golf initiatives, but not so much at the grassroots and junior levels.
Now Dubai is my home and I am Golden Visa resident, I felt the time was right to give back something to the UAE through golf. There are no entry fees for players and all the players have been nominated by the respective golf clubs.
The EAGL Junior Championship is sanctioned by the Emirates Golf Federation. It is a stroke play event with handicaps allocated according to the Course Index, with a maximum handicap of 18.
I am looking forward to welcoming some of the best juniors in the UAE to Meydan and to see them all in action first hand.
After the EAGL Junior Championship on December 18, from noon, the EAGL Corporate Invitational will tee off involving nine teams of eight players, with the champions emerging from those who have compiled the most points from the aggregate of all the players in the respective teams.
The following teams are competing in the EAGL Corporate Invitational: Bentley, Emirates NBD, Shapoorji Pallonji, Satoshi FX, Wealth of Wellness — WOW, Atari chain, Three Comma Capital Advisors, Just Golf and GRP Industries.
