The Ras Al Khaimah Classic takes place at Al Hamra Golf Club

The 2023 Waldorf Astoria Ras Al Khaimah Amateur Championship will take place Friday 20th – Sunday 22nd January, 2023 at Al Hamra Golf Club, Ras Al Khaimah.

The 54 hole event is a qualifier for the R&A Men’s World Rankings as well as part of the 2022 – 2023 Emirates Golf Federation Men’s Order of Merit and considered as one of the four EGF ‘Majors.’

Entries received to date include the winner of last week’s Emirates Men’s Amateur Open, Sam Mullane (Jumeirah Golf Estates), winner of the previous week’s OMEGA Dubai Creek Men’s Open, James Nash (Wales), 13 year-old Louis Klein (Czech Republic) and former UAE professional Simon Dunn (Tower Links GC).

Overseas entries have been received for this event from India, Netherlands, Pakistan, Switzerland, UK and USA.

Lowest handicap in the field is +6, Jonathan Selveraj (Yas Links Abu Dhabi), Dunn (+5), Milan Kotab (Al Hamra GC, +5), Sam Mullane (+5), Jay Mullane (+5), Jake Wiltshire (Abu Dhabi City Golf Club, +5), Hoshi Yadav (Jumeirah Golf Estates, +5).

The draw will be published on Wednesday 18th January, 2023 by the host club.

An added incentive for the field is that the winner will receive an invite to a 2023 Challenge Tour event, part of the DP World Tour.

The provisional field consists of 40 competitors, including 26 players boasting a handicap of scratch or better.
