Originally from Brentwood, Essex in England Bobby and Jack have lived in Jumeirah Golf Estates on the 13th hole of the Earth Course for two years with Dad, Brian and Mum, Sacha.

They first started the game of golf at TOPGOLF Chigwell in Essex, and always enjoyed every opportunity to play Mini-Golf.

The boys aren’t currently members of a golf club in the UAE, but have lessons at the Tommy Fleetwood Academy at the Jumeirah Golf Estates DP World Golf Performance Centre and play the Par 3 at Trump International Golf Club as well as the Dubai Creek Par 3 and the Emirates Golf Club Par 3.

Bobby has lessons with Joe O’Connor and Jack with Diarmaid Fraser. And when the summers get to hot here in Dubai they practice indoors at the Tommy Fleetwood Academy and play at TOPGOLF at Emirates Golf Club. That is when they aren’t watching their favourite football team Arsenal on the tv!

“What impressed us is that it was always the boy’s decision to take up golf. We now have a putting green in our garden and they both have a discipline for practice around their school work” said Mum.

“My husband Brian has only just taken up the game, is a member of JGE and already has a handicap of 10.”

Passion and discipline

“It’s been a joy for me to spend so much time with the boys playing golf. The passion and discipline they both show with their practice makes us incredibly proud. The whole family now play and it’s so much fun for us all” said Dad.

“We have been impressed with the progression of the boys by playing the full golf courses – regularly playing at both Jumeirah Golf Estates and Montgomerie Golf Club.

The boys have been busy getting tournament golf under their belts as well. Bobby finished fourth in the Trump International Junior Order of Merit October 2022 – March 2023, despite missing several events due to injury. Jack finished third overall in the same event.

Bobby also played in the US Kids UAE, finishing second in Al Hamra, first at Tower Links, first at Yas Links Abu Dhabi and again first in his age group in the Grand Final at Montgomerie Golf Club!

Hole-in-one

With Bobby winning the season long UAE Kids UAE qualifies him to play in the Junior World Championships in Pinehurst in America in the first week of August. Included in Jack’s achievements was a hole-in-one on hole nine in November last year in a junior competition at Trump International Golf Club.

When the DP World Tour was in town last year, the boys both met with Shane Lowry at the 2022 DP World Tour Championship. Since then, the organisers of the DP World Tour Championship have been in touch to discuss how they can collaborate in the future which is exciting.

Their other favourite golfers are Tommy Fleetwood, Rory McIlroy, Adri Arnaus and Arian Meronk.

Jack and Bobby will be travelling to Pinehurst in the US to play in the US Kids Junior Championships. The Division they are playing in is Aged 5 – 12 while representing the UAE.

25,000 participants from 50 countries in 1,800 tournaments have participated with the winners playing in this World Final.

A final thought from their Golf Coach Joseph O’Connor; ‘Three months in to coaching they both have an ability to learn very quickly – their enthusiasm and obsession with golf is something I have not seen before. Reaching hole-in-one and birdie – par milestones at such an early age is so impressive.’
