Akash Thangadore (3) struck a stunning gross 75, net 72, to win the recent event on the Filipinos in the Middle East (FIGME) Golf Society at Al Zorah Golf Club, Ajman.
Thangadore started slowly with a bogey five on the first, a double bogey seven on the fourth, and a bogey four on the fifth hole. Focus was Akash’ motivation from then on, resulting in a timely recovery of, par – birdie - par finish on holes 7, 8 and 9.
The round was capped by a birdie at the 18th, ending with a gross 37 over the back nine over his home course.

Joey Halago was also presented with his trophy for winning the 2022 FIGME Order of Merit.
The tournament in Al Zorah was supported by eGolf Megastore, Romantic Baka, Dampa Seafood, Pickl and Al Zorah Golf Club.
FIGME turns 15 years old in May this year with celebrations are being planned for June 2023.
The next event on the 2023 FIGME Golf Calendar, is a ‘minor’ Order of Merit event scheduled on 4th February 2023, to be held at Sharjah Golf & Shooting Club, supported by eGolf Megastore.
