Dubai-based Napoleaova in tied 60th spot on Ladies’ European Tour event

Dubai: Sweden’s Sofie Bringner shot a seven under par 66 to lead by one shot after round one of the $1 million Aramco Team Series — London, on the Ladies’ European Tour (LET), which began on Thursday.
Bringner, 24 years old, shot a brilliant opening round that included three eagles on the par 5 holes: 1, 6 and 18. She also claimed four birdies on the back nine and had, in her round, three bogeys and only 8 pars.
Chasing Bringner are the English pair of Georgia Hall and 2021 Dubai Moonlight Classic champion Bronte Law on six under and five under respectively. Another Swede Jenny Haglund is tied second on six under par.
Dubai-based LET professional Kristyna Napoleaova of the Czech Republic shot a four birdie, three over par 76 with nines of 37 and 39 to lie in tied 60th place.
In the Team Event Napoleaova’s Team lie in tied 10th place on 12 under par, four shots behind the leaders Team Van Dam and Team Grant.
This week’s London leg is the second of five $1 million Aramco Team Series tournaments on the LET calendar for 2022. It is famed for its unique format, in which three LET professionals play in teams with one amateur player with the purse split 50/50 between the Team Event and the Individual Event.
The Team Event will conclude after 36 holes with the pros only playing in Saturday’s final round.
