Senior Champions Tour: Sultan Mahmood takes Order of Merit Title

Dubai: The season long 2021 — 2022 UAE Senior Champions Tour came to a close on Wednesday at Emirates Golf Club with the Grand Final played over the Faldo Course.

Winning the Order of Merit was Sultan Mahmood with an impressive total of 143 points beating runner-up Mujahid Siddiqui by four points. Each event was conducted as an Individual Stableford format based on a Player’s Handicap Index.

All members of The Senior Champions Tour, who must hold a valid Emirates Golf Federation Handicap, are eligible to enter the Order of Merit for the season and the golfer who accumulates the most points in four out of six events is awarded the Order of Merit Trophy. The Order of Merit trophy is a majestic Swarovski encrusted hybrid club worthy of the Senior Champion of the Year.

The Grand Final Day Division A winner was Anand Lakhiani with 38 points followed by Tauseef Khan on 37 points and third placed Dorin Mateiu a further point behind.

In Division B, Mujahid Siddiqui with 38 points, followed by Ishu Rupani a point behind and Sami Ghjandour in third on 36 points. The best score of the day came from the Guest Division, which was won by Russell Yeomans on 39 points.

The prize presentation evening also included an entertaining Q&A session with Dubai resident and Dubai Golden Visa Awardee and former Ryder Cup player, Nicolas Colsaerts.
