The rescheduled Trump Dubai Summer Open took place on Saturday at Trump International Golf Course Dubai with a 13:30 shotgun start.

In the Men’s Division, 77 players competed off the Gold Tees with a slope rating of 129. While in the Ladies Division, 11 players were off the Red Tees with a slope rating of 119 in a tournament that was sanctioned by the Emirates Golf Federation.

Men’s Division Gross winner was 16-year-old Rayan Ahmed with a two under par 69.

Ahmed, who plays out of The Montgomerie Dubai, began his shotgun start on the second hole and got off to a slow start. He was in fact one over for his day, after bogey on the 7th, until the par four 12th when he got back to level par. A further birdie followed on the 435 yard par four 16th and he saved a vital final birdie on the 1st, his last hole, to sign for a 69.

Just the one shot victory in the Trump Dubai Summer Open for Ahmed over Craig Vance (Trump International GC, Dubai) and Ahmed Naim (The Els Club, Dubai) both finishing in a tie for second at one under par 70.

Three players tied in 4th spot after rounds of 72 - Dave Voller, Dan Byrne and Jay Varkey.

In the Ladies Gross Division, Aoife Kelly also a Trump Member, took the spoils in a tight contest with a level par 71.

Kelly who plays off scratch, had a colourful round of 11 pars, 4 birdies, 2 bogeys and 1 double bogey to win the Ladies Gross Division by one shot over The Els Club’s Jamie Roslyn Camero.

There was great scoring also in the Net Divisions. Taking the Men’s Net title was Trump International member Jip Wassink. Playing off a handicap of 21, Wassink carded a six under par 65 to win by three shots over fellow member Scott Fisher. In a three-way tie for third with net 69s were Naim, Voller and Varkey.

In the Ladies Net Division, Julie Goodall (Trump International GC, Dubai) won by just one shot. With a handicap of 18, Goodall signed for a Gross 70, just one shot clear of a three-way tie for second place, which after countback was taken by Josephine Dubuisson.
