Dubai: The inaugural Curry Club event at Jumeirah Golf Estates, marked perfect fusion of friendly golf competition and gastronomic delights. The event, hosted on Fire Course, brought together 24 enthusiastic golfers for an unforgettable evening of friendly competition and culinary excellence. The event format featured a Pair Scramble played over 9 holes on the Fire Course, followed by a presentation and lovely dinner at Kasturi restaurant.

The winners of the day, Noel O’Leary and Steve Drake, secured an impressive victory with a net score of 30 strokes, 6 under par. Their clean scorecard, with no net bogeys and 6 birdies, truly showcased their well-deserved success. David Tarbotton and Tommy Carr claimed the second place with an equally remarkable net score of 32.

Last four holes

Particularly impressive was their exceptional stretch of 4 consecutive birdies on the last 4 holes, shooting 4 under par. Evelyn Downham and Mick Cairns secured the third place with an equally brilliant net score of 32.

After the game, all players gathered at the impressive Kasturi restaurant and indulged in a variety of sharing curries from different regions of India.

Concluding the prize-giving presentation, Stephen Hubner, Jumeirah Golf Estates’ Club Manager, expressed his appreciation to all participants and remarked, ‘Thank you for being part of our inaugural Thursday Curry Club event.
